Never eat a wild mushroom identified from a website. This one helps you rule things out. It cannot rule anything in.

Mr Mushroom

Privacy

What we collect, and how to refuse it.

Mr Mushroom is a set of static pages. There are no accounts and no login. We hold nothing about you beyond what is set out below, and there is nowhere for us to put it if you gave it to us.

Analytics, and the cookies it sets. This site loads Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-3Y4KZQ9GBL, to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It sets first-party cookies, typically named _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years and let Google recognise a returning browser. Google states that it does not log or store full IP addresses in Analytics 4, using them only to derive an approximate location before discarding them. We see aggregate reports: page counts, rough country, device type. We cannot see who you are and do not try to.

How to refuse it. Block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings, use private browsing, use a content blocker, or install Google’s own Analytics opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do. Every page is static and none of it depends on being measured.

The contact form. If you write to us through the contact form, your message and the address you give are sent by email to us through SendGrid so we can reply and act on any correction. That is the only reason we keep it, and it is not added to any list.

The newsletter. Signing up is optional, separate, and double opt-in: your address is stored by Brevo, our email provider, and you are not subscribed until you confirm by clicking a link we send you. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

Affiliate links. Some outbound links to Amazon carry our store tag, mrmushroomcom-20. If you follow one, Amazon knows you arrived from here and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, which we do not control and you should read if it matters to you. We receive a commission on qualifying purchases and never see your payment details, your address, or what you bought beyond an aggregate total.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary request logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability. That is standard for any website and we do not use those logs to build a profile of you.

Children. This site is not directed at children.

Your rights. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. What we hold is any email you have chosen to send us and any newsletter subscription you have chosen to confirm, so a request is simple: write to us and we will delete both.
